150 operations for BigShoe

This year, B. Braun is celebrating the 150-year anniversary of its subsidiary Aesculap. On the occasion of this special birthday, Aesculap gave the children’s aid project BigShoe a very remarkable gift of 100,000 Euros, spread over the next four years and, with that, the guarantee to operate on at least 150 children in need.

Aesculap and BigShoe share the same goal:  to make people’s lives a little better, a little healthier, a little more carefree and a little happier. With this contribution, the medical technology company would like to pass on a piece of the future to the children of BigShoe.

The donated check was presented within the scope of the open house on July 1st, 2017, which was the highlight of the anniversary festivities when Aesculap opened its gates to the general public and celebrated an exceptional party with 25,000 visitors.

BigShoe – The Children’s Aid Project
Come into being during the World Cup in 2006 when on the occasion of the Togo National Team’s stay soccer fans collected money for the urgent operation on a little African girl named Nourisson, the association up to now has been able to finance 1,300 operations for children. This has included congenital heart defects, burns, cleft lip and palate, malformation or cataract. At BigShoe, the small patients are treated voluntarily by doctors who apply their skills and expertise in service of a good cause.
The BigShoe association is part of the initiative “B. Braun for Children,” which B. Braun initiated in 2004. The program supports altogether over 100 social and cultural children’s aid projects around the world.
