The strategic partnership focuses mainly on research and development.  Linking scientific theory and industrial practice is the primary objective of all joint projects.

The deciding factor: “The equality of both partners has been the core of our cooperation activities for many years. And the outstanding results we have achieved prove that this is the right approach”, says Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Heim, Professor of Plastics Engineering at the University of Kassel and scientific head of UNIpace – an applications center for polymer processing that the university opened with B. Braun in 2014. The institution, located on the Holländischer Platz campus in Kassel, is only one of many projects that link the two partners from science and industry. To date, B. Braun has invested 2.4 million euros in the Polymer Application. Establishing polymer engineering competence locally also improves future prospects: technical expertise for tangible developments, training future generations of engineers and developers, and the specific focus of the Center on silicon materials – a material group with a bright future, for example, in infusion therapy.
