A vision becomes reality

For a long time, it sounded like a dream that couldn't come true. But through tissue engineering, medicine is now able to replace diseased or destroyed tissue with artificially-created biological tissue. B. Braun is one of the leading medical device manufacturer in this procedure: The body's own cartilage cells are removed and cloned in the laboratory for transplantation. Then, the cells are transplanted into the joint, where they start to produce new cartilage matrices. The body regenerates naturally.

Employer Branding-Hans Jürgen Leitner

Achievements in healthcare and maximum medical performance

Hans Jürgen Leitner benefits from this "self-healing". After years as a high-performing sportsperson, the former Taekwondo champion and trainer was suffering from cartilage damage. It looked like he would have to give up his sport. But through sheer force of will and the support of the minimally invasive procedure for treating damaged cartilage Leitner is embarking on a new phase of his life, continuing to do sport, but nearly without the pain. And now a particular dream of his has come true: a Taekwondo school of his own.
